THE WORD THAT WORKS – PART 4
Blessed greetings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Without any doubt the Lord has been giving us, divine encounters via His word in the last few weeks. My prayer is that these encounters will establish our destinies in a grandstyle.
In our study of the “The WORD that WORKS” this week, we shall be examining “THE WORD IN SEASON”. There’s what the scripture referred to as the word in season according to Isaiah 50:3 – “that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary”.
Recognise that, just as the Right Word addresses “on the spot” situations and moments, the Word in Season addresses some seasons in our lives. That is, the right word tackles immediate challenges whereas the word in season sustains us throughout the period (season) of our trials.
For example, the case of Abraham at the age of 75 years. He was still in his father’s house with his wife (barren). Everything looked down for him. Nothing was working for him, no house of his own, no child of his own at that age, but the word in season that came his way and sustained him all through his time of trials – “...in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed” - Gen. 12:1-3
Also written; “And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be”- Gen 15:5 (see also Gen 17:4-8)
You need the word in season to season (flavour) your season of trials into triumph. The word in season sustained Abraham for 25 years before Isaac came forth. He kept on hoping against hope; the source of his strength was the word in season. (Pro 15:23/Rom. 4:17-21)
The word in season is as good as God in operation, because it runs through you making the effect of the challenge of little or no impact on your spirit-man – the ‘sustainer’ of your body.
No matter how bad life has or seems to have treated you, your case can’t be as worse as Abraham’s, with grey hair nearing the grave but yet the grace in the word in season sustained and settled him.
Your marriage maybe wearisome, your carrier, business, family may be under stress; all you need in the time of trials is the word in season. As a believer, we cannot escape challenges, but with the word in season our championship cannot be denied.
Challenges of life expose us to secrets of greatness in destiny. Those who refuse to confront trials ends up as trash in life while those who takes responsibility of facing trials ends up as treasure and ultimately become giants. Trials are potential riders to your rising. All you need is a word in season.
